Graham’s media career began during his teens. He started writing for local publications and then became a contributor to BBC Radio Medway (now called Radio Kent). He continued this work as a ‘holiday relief’ presenter throughout his three years at university.

Graham’s first degree, B.Sc. (Hons.), is in Human Biology, though, throughout his university career he contributed to the student newspaper, ran the student radio station and was a presenter on the campus TV station.

It was hardly a surprise to his lecturers that on leaving university he went to work on an evening newspaper, rather then enter the world of biological research. Graham trained as a journalist on The Surrey Daily Advertiser in Guildford, finally becoming an education correspondent.

Graham then moved to Polydor Records where he was a press officer, responsible for the public relations of various bands and artistes, such as Sham 69, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Who and Jean-Michel Jarre.

However, the world of science beckoned again when Graham was headhunted to be the Science Editor of Doctor and Hospital Doctor, two weekly news magazines for the medical profession.

After four years in this post Graham set up his own business providing specialist services to the media and industry, including writing and speaking. He has written for national newspapers, women’s magazines, trade periodicals and international publications. He has also written or edited newsletters, web sites, TV scripts, radio programmes and trained more than 25,000 people to get their message across. He has spoken around the world and chaired and hosted events in the UK and Europe.

Graham returned to university and qualified as a psychologist and now has higher degrees in psychology and communication.

He is now also a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Buckingham and an Associate Lecturer at The Open University.
